Dandiya is the most popular dance of Gujarat. It is now performed all over India and in other parts of the world where Gujaratis have settled in. Come Navratri and everyone picks up the Dandiya sticks to join in this colorful dance.

It is a simple and graceful dance form in which men, women and children join to form a dance circle, holding and playing with colourful wooden sticks or dandiyas. Traditionally Dandiya is performed mostly by men but now women and children also join in. Everyone wears their best and vibrant attire and dances in pairs forming concentric circles.

Daniya Raas is a type of Raas dance, which is a form Raas Leela - the playful dances of Lord Krishna with Radhas and other Gopis in Vrindavan.
